Catherine Hartness Shockley, 90, of Halley AR passed away Saturday December 24, 2011 at her residence.
She loved spending time with her family, loved to fish and play cards. She taught Sunday school and Vacation Bible School, and was a long time member of Halley Baptist Church.
Mrs. Shockley is preceded in death by her first husband Claude Edward Hartness, second husband T.W. Shockley, daughter Barbara Allwhite, and two infant children.
She is survived by two sons; Edward “Ed” Hartness of Crossett AR, James Hartness of Wilmar AR, a daughter Sue Ricks of Halley AR, two brothers; John Morris of Halley AR , Guy Morris of Japan, son-in-law David Allwhite of Vilonia AR, 13 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, and seven great-great grandchildren.
Funeral service for Mrs. Shockley will be 1:00pm Tuesday December 27, 2011 at Halley Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Donaldson, Rev. Andy Williams, and Rev. Gene Gregory officiating. Burial will follow at Trafalgar Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday December 26, 2011 from 5 to 7 pm at Griffin-Culpepper Funeral Chapel and from 12:00 to 1pm Tuesday at Halley Baptist Church.
