James Harold Smith, age 63, of Lake Village, passed away Saturday, February 9, 2013 at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock. He was born December 6, 1949, in Dermott, Arkansas. He graduated from Portland High School in 1967 followed by graduation from the University of Arkansas in
Monticello. He was a member of the Army National Guard 216th Medical Company from 1971- 1981. After many years of farming and farm chemical sales, he became a certified farm equipment appraiser and worked throughout the State of Arkansas and Louisiana.
James is survived by his two sons, Jim Smith and his wife, Lydia and their two children, Gavin and Brody of Elizabeth City, North Carolina and Scott Smith and his wife Peyton of Crossett, Arkansas, two brothers, George Keys of Quitman, Louisiana and Craig Keys of Little Rock, Arkansas, as well as his dearly loved cousin, Judy Baxter of Whitehall, Arkansas. He also leaves behind his beloved dog, "Prissy".
A Rosary service followed by a Memorial Service will be held Monday, February 18, 2013, starting at 6:00 p.m. at Bishop Funeral Home Chapel. Arrangements are by Bishop Funeral Home of Lake Village.
