LOWELL — Jewell V. Hawthorn, 86, of Lowell died Dec. 4, 2000, at Kellmark Nursing Center in Rogers. She was born Jan. 5, 1914, in Rocky, Okla., to Amos and Minerva McCain Bachlor. She moved here 11 years ago from Milton-Freewater, Ore. She was a member of the Downtown Church of Christ in Rogers. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Jeff Hawthorn, to whom she was married Oct. 10, 1929, one son, Jeff M. Hawthorn of Anza, Calif.; two daughters, Lucille Brown of Palmdale, Calif., and Gwyn Schroeder of Clayton, N.M.; one sister, Ruby Birdwell of Clayton; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Sisco Funeral Chapel in Springdale, with Ronnie Hinds officiating. Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jim Johnston, Jerry Shell, Earl Mitchell, G.W. Walsh, Doug Parker and Johny Seaton.
Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. today at the funeral home. The family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m.
