Mrs. Lee Eunice Shaw, 79 of Crossett, AR, died Thursday, March 7, 2013 at Northern Louisiana Medical Center in Ruston, LA. She was a native of Strong, AR, but a resident of Crossett for the past 31 years. She was a retired C.N.A. and a member of Phillip Grove Missionary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Mr. Abraham “Abe” Shaw, one son, Abraham Shaw, Jr., one daughter, Leola Gilbert, one grandson, Rodney Shaw, her parents, Garland and Verna Allen Washington, three brothers: Theodis, George & Eddie Leo Washington and two sisters: Frances Washington and Jerelean Preston. She loved going to church, gospel singing and fishing. She was very active in her church and served as President of Phillip Grove Senior Choir and was a Missionary and a Deaconess. She was also a member of Singing Union #3 and Community Singing Union #2.
She is survived by two sons: Demargo Shaw of Oklahoma, Willie “Bo Pete” Shaw of Little Rock, AR, two brothers, Herman Washington of Gary, IN, Garland Washington, Jr., of East Chicago, IN, two sisters, Naomi Meadows of Strong, AR, Vivian Gatewood of Santa Maria, CA, three grandchildren, Veronica Martin, Herman Gilbert and Tasha Shaw all of Little Rock, AR, ten great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and loved ones.
Funeral services are Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at 1:00 pm at Phillip Grove Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Horace Ingram & Rev. John Childress, officiating. Pallbearers are Thaddeus Richard, Freddie Robinson, Robert Scates, James Adams, Terry Gilliam and George Jacob, Jr. Honorary pallbearers are Deacons & Trustees of Phillip Grove Missionary Baptist. Burial in Phillip Grove Cemetery under the directions of Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg, AR.
