August 17,1937 - October 19, 2010
Roger Wesley Chambers, age 73, of Mountain Home, Arkansas, formerly of Hot Springs, Arkansas and Houston, Texas, passed away Tuesday, October 19, 2010, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, Missouri.
He was born August 17, 1937, in Harrison, Arkansas, to Dr. Seldon and Kathryne Springer Chambers. A graduate of the Mountain Home Public Schools class of 1955, he also graduated from the University of Arkansas where he was a Pi Kappa Alpha. He served as a general's aide in the United States Army.
Roger lived for 30 years in Houston, Texas, where he owned one of the largest real estate agencies in Texas, "Ameritec". He retired in 1996 and moved to Hot Springs, Arkansas in 2005. He had recently moved back to Mountain Home. Mr. Chambers was a member of St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church and was an avid golfer. He married Patsy Mooney on April 30, 2005 at Hot Springs Village.
Survivors are his wife: Patsy Mooney Chambers: of the home; a brother: Dr. Don Chambers (and wife Mary Beth): Ft. Smith, Arkansas; a sister: Darrah Rees (and husband Robert): Jonesboro, Arkansas; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be from Noon-9:00 P.M. Friday, October 22, 2010, at Roller Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 6-8:00 P.M. A Vigil Service will be at 7:00 P.M. Friday in the Roller Chapel. The Funeral Mass will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church with Reverend Innocent Okore as celebrant. Interment will follow in Mountain Home Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Mark Rees, Hal Rees, Curt Chambers, Garrett Chambers and Nathan Anderson. Honorary pallbearers will be: the Mountain Home High School class of 1955; the Tuesday/Thursday Senior Golfers of Hot Springs Country Club; Roy Danuser; and Nancy and Dwayne Reed.
