TULSA, Okla. — Donnie Lavern Schell, 81, of Tulsa, Okla., died Dec. 28 at his home. He was born Sept. 28, 1937, in Jane, Mo., to Hugh Franklin Schell and Velva LaFawn McCool Schell.
He was raised in the Whittenburg community and attended White Rock School. He married Shirley May Woodard before moving to Wichita, Kan., to work for Boeing Airlines. He then moved to Tulsa and retired from American Airlines.
He loved NASCAR and was a mechanic for Hershel Thompson Racing in Tulsa. He could build computers and work on cameras and was of the Church of Christ faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Shirley; and a sister, Velda O'Brien (Harold). Survivors include son Brad Schell (Becky) of Tulsa; brother Dennis Schell of Lanagan, Mo.; sister Zelda Henson (Troy) of Pineville, Mo.; sisters-in-law, Joyce Botts and Clyta Brewer of Wichita, Kan.; two grandchildren, Kara Gourd (Bruce) and Scott Schell (Melissa); and three great-grandchildren.
Service is set for 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2 at Sisco Funeral Chapel in Pea Ridge with Tommy Burr officiating. Visitation will start at 1 p.m. Wednesday before the service. Burial will be in Pea Ridge Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at siscofuneralhome.net.

TULSA, Okla. — Shirley M. Schell, age 73, of Tulsa, Okla., passed away on Friday, July 20, 2012, at her home in Tulsa, following an illness.
Shirley was born on Aug. 14, 1938, in Powell, Mo., the daughter of the late Chester Woodard and Oleta (Banks) Laughlin. She worked for Boeing Aircraft in Wichita before moving to Tulsa in 1968. She attended the 10th and Rockford Church of Christ in Tulsa. She enjoyed collecting antiques and Barbies.
Shirley married Donnie Schell on June 2, 1957, in Baxter Springs, Kan., and he survives. Additional survivors include one son, Brad Schell and his wife, Rebecca, of Tulsa. Two sisters, Clyta Brewer and Joyce Botts, both of Wichita, Kan.; two grandchildren, Kara Renee Gourd and her husband, Bruce, and Scott Allen Schell of Tulsa. One great-grandchild, Breanna Gourd of Tulsa.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Pea Ridge Church of Christ. Tom Burr, Minister, will officiate. Burial will be in Pea Ridge Cemetery.
The family will receive friends 2-3 p.m. Tuesday at the Pea Ridge Church of Christ.
Arrangements are under the direction of Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory.
