When Faye Elizabeth Sutton was born on March 29, 1910, in Arkansas, her father, Henry, was 28, and her mother, Naomi, was 41. She married Jesse Merl Showalter on April 28, 1926. They had four children during their marriage. She died on May 15, 2007, in Searcy, Arkansas, at the age of 97, and was buried in White, Arkansas.

Faye Elizabeth Showalter, 97 of Searcy, died Tuesday, May 15, 2007. She was a member of St. Paul’s Methodist Church, a homemaker, a very good provider for her family, and a wonderful cook.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Merl, a son Roy Neal, and a daughter, Abbie Hazelbaker. Survivors include a daughter, Hope Harris of Searcy and a son, J.M. of Dallas, Texas, a daughter-in-law, Allene Showalter of Searcy, eight grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, and five great great-grandchildren, two half sisters, and one half brother; Mary Gentry, Ruby Bates, and Orville Sutton.

Funeral services will be conducted in the chapel of Roller-Daniel Funeral Home on Thursday, May 17, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. with interment at White County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be on Wednesday, May 16, 2007 from 6:00-8:00 p.m.
