When Jesse Alexander Showalter was born on November 14, 1875, in Logansport, Indiana, his father, Alexander, was 36 and his mother, Rebecca, was 31. He had six sons and three daughters with Abbie Lee Edwards. He died on December 27, 1961, in Searcy, Arkansas, at the age of 86, and was buried in White, Arkansas.
