Charlene Wilma Cupples, 74, of Mountain Home passed away Thursday, April 12, 2018 in Mountain Home. She was born August 19, 1943 in Sheridan, Arkansas to the late Randall Eugene Carr, Sr. and Wilma Webb Carr. Charlene attended elementary and high school in Sheridan, and college at Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia, AR and Southeast Missouri University in Cape Girardeau, MO, graduating in 1983 with a BS in Education. She married Dr. Tommy Glenn Cupples, Sr. on May 27, 1962 in Sheridan. She taught at Delta Elementary School in Delta, MO, Decatur Elementary School in Indianapolis, IN and William Holliday Elementary School in Fairview Heights, IL. Charlene served 25 years as an Early Childhood Teacher and Administrator and 56 years as a minister’s wife. She participated in mission trips in China and three times in Brazil.
Charlene is survived by her husband; three sons, Dr. Tommy Glenn (Doris) Cupples, Jr. of Ballwin, MO, Rev. Christopher Eugene Cupples of Elko, NV and Rev. Stacy Edward (Shannon) Cupples of Mountain Home, AR; ten grandchildren, Jonathan, David (Lindsay) and Chase Cupples of MO, Braden (Alyssa), Brendi, Brantley, Bradley and Brody Cupples of AR, Shelby, Samantha and Sarah Cupples of Mountain Home; one great grandson, Brayson of Nashville, AR;one great granddaughter, Athena of St. Louis, MO; one brother, Randall Eugene Carr, Jr., of San Antonio, TX; one sister, Della Mae Williams of Sheridan, AR; six nephews and two nieces of Arkansas and Idaho and many other friends.
Visitation will be held at 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at the Conner Family Funeral Home and Cremation Center Chapel with the funeral service to follow at 10:00. Burial will be at the Mountain Home Cemetery.
