When Ivron James Whitescarver was born on October 6, 1905, in Jefferson, Kentucky, his father, James, was 34 and his mother, Lou, was 27. He married Jerry Gretchen Pace on April 16, 1927, in Brandon, Mississippi. They had one child during their marriage. He died on January 15, 1980, in Searcy, Arkansas, at the age of 74, and was buried there.
