Mary Madeliene Burgess, 93, of Prattsville, AR, formerly of Eudora, AR passed away Monday, December 4, 2017. She was born in Bradley, AR a daughter of the late Lee and Lorraine Thomas Cheney. She was a creative, loving, caring and giving person who had the patience of Job.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by husband Guy G. Burgess; sisters, Marie Procell and Margaret Emerson; brothers, Thomas Cheney and Travis Cheney.
Survivors include her daughter Guyliene Rodriguez and her husband Juan of Prattsville, AR; son Dr. James G. Burgess and his wife Jeanette of Russelville, AR; brothers J.L. Cheney of Oklahoma City, OK and Horace Cheney of Bastrop, LA; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, December 7, 2017 at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Eudora, AR with Rev. Kenny Culpepper officiating. Arrangements by Griffin-Culpepper Funeral Service of Eudora, AR. On-line guest book may be signed at www.griffinculpepper.com
