After Law School he moved to Mountain Home to set up a practice. He was appointed City Attorney and was elected Municipal Judge, serving sixteen years in that capacity. During this time he was a member of the Elks and Rotary clubs, and was involved in many other professional organizations. Also in Mountain Home, he and his then-wife (Jeanne R. While serving as judge, he joined the Army Reserves. When he retired from law, he returned to active duty with the Army serving as Chief of the Language Division. There, his focus was on the instruction of interrogation techniques, from which he retired in 1989.
