Clara Lucille (Ausburn) Ferren, 100, surrounded by her family, went home to be with the Lord on May 4, 2012. She was the oldest of 10 children born to Samuel and Katie (Riggins) Ausburn of Kensett, Arkansas on September 26, 1911. Clara attended Kensett schools, was married at the Searcy Court House on September 1, 1928 and was very grateful to receive the Key to the City of Searcy from Mayor David Morris in celebration of her 100th birthday on September 26th, 2011. She was part of the quilting group at the Whitney Lane Family Worship Assembly of God Church, Kensett, and attended the First Assembly of God Church in Searcy, Arkansas.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 57 years, Homer Theodore Ferren; grand-daughter, Lynn Jones, great-grandson Roger O'Neal, 2 brothers, and 4 sisters. She is survived by 1 brother, two sisters, two sons and daughter-in-laws, Raymond and Laveda Ferren of Missouri, Tom and Betty Ferren of California; two daughters, Norma Jackson of Arkansas and Teresa Shelley of California; 9 grandchildren, Roger Jones, Cynthia (Carmelo) Ortiz, Kimberley (Corrine) Ferren, Rena (Roy) Mendiola, Katrina (Bob) Swanson, David Ferren, Janet (Kevin) Skinner, Phillip (Amy) Ciprotti and Megan Donovan; 20 great-grandchildren and 24 great-great grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
The family would like to thank the wonderful support of The Arkansas Hospice, especially remembering Case Manager Sharon Reynolds RN, Elizabeth Barton RN, Kari Kiser RN, Nurse's Aide Sonja Dry, Social Worker Amy Murphy, Chaplain Tom Edwards and Volunteer Coordinator Glenna Barlow. With their help, her passing was a peaceful and loving experience.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either Arkansas Hospice, 410 N Apple, Searcy, Arkansas 72143 or to the parents of Harper Ellis Ferren in care of the First Assembly of God Church, PO Box 902, Searcy, Arkansas 72145.
Visitation will be at Roller-Daniel Funeral Home Wednesday May 9, 2012 from 9-10 AM, Funeral Services 10-11 AM with Pastor Vernon Ables of the First Assembly of God Church, Searcy, Arkansas officiating. Music will be provided by Francis McFadden and Charles Hunter. The eulogy will be given by Phillip Ciprotti. Pallbearers will be Phillip Ciprotti, Charles Ferren, Jim McFadden, Roger Ferren, Roy Mendiola and Mark DeLoach. Honorary Pallbearers will be Floyd Ausburn, Terry Hall and Clayton Ferren.
