A, 3rd Arkansas Infantry, September 25, 1862; wounded in the left leg at Chickamauga, Georgia, September 19, 1863; transferred to Invalid Corps at Columbia, South Carolina, September 6, 1864; retired as invalid at Lauderdale, Mississippi, March 3, 1865; born in Carroll county, Mississippi, April 18, 1840; died in Ashley county, Arkansas, October 6, 1907; buried in Trafalgar Cemetery in Ashley county; married (1) Sarah Jane Watkins in Ashley county, October 9, 1870; married (2) Elizabeth Lindsey in Ashley county, March 19, 1876; filed Arkansas pension application #2959 from Ashley county, August 7, 1906; listed in Ashley county 1860 census; occupation farmer; brother of Private William E. Gregory.
