Alfreda Lawson, 89, of Memphis, formerly of Corning, died Wednesday, July 28, 2010, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis.

Born Sept. 21, 1920, at McRae.

Mrs. Lawson was a retired grocery clerk and bank teller. She enjoyed crosswords, knitting, crotchet, needlepoint, reading and gardening. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Corning.

Survivors are two sons, Randy Lawson of Hollywood, Md., and Richie Lawson of Germantown, Tenn.; three brothers, Walter Mizell of Little Rock, John L. Mizell of Greenville, Texas, and James Howard Mizell of Pompano Beach, Fla.; three grandchildren, Meghan Caslin, Justin and Aaron Lawson; one great-grandchild, Sean William Caslin; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by parents, Earl and Artie Mizell; husband, Charles Sicurella; daughter, Mary C. Sicurella; brothers, Leonard, Lowell, Winton and Earl Mizell Jr.; and one granddaughter, Virginia Kathleen Lawson.

Service were held at First Baptist Church of Corning with David Richey officiating. Burial was in Corning Cemetery.
