Frank Odell May passed away peacefully in Hope, Arkansas on Sunday, May 20, 2012, at the age of 78.
Proud to be an Arkansas native, Frank was born in Nashville, Arkansas on November 11, 1933. Born to Fred and Velma May, Frank was the second child in a loving family of nine children, all raised in Nashville and Highland, Arkansas.
Frank showed his love for his country by serving as a United States Marine. He spent his career managing Tyson Hatchery in Murfreesboro, Arkansas.
Frank was married for 51 years to his devoted and loving wife, Fern Gilbert May. His children, Jimmy, Terri, and his stepson Tony were his pride and joy. They shared his passion for the outdoors and together they enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gardening.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Velma and his siblings Harvey, Tommy, and Harold. He is survived by his wife Fern May of Hope, AR; a stepson Tony Hosey of Chandler, TX; one son Jimmy and wife Tiffany of Lake Jackson, TX; a daughter Terri Stroud and husband Randy of Hope, AR; and a grandchild Brandy Givens and husband Mark of El Dorado, AR;, great-grandchildren Baylee and Blane also of El Dorado, AR; Frank's surviving siblings are Bobby, Billy Jim, Don, Carolyn, and Mary.
Frank's visitation will be held between 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at Latimer Funeral Home in Nashville, Arkansas. Graveside Services will be held, 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at Ozan Cemetery.
In loving memory of their dear father, Tony, Jimmy, and Terri would like to say that their father gave them the greatest gift anyone could give another person, he believed in them.
Although he will be missed, his guiding hand on their shoulders will remain with them forever.
