Alex Strayhorn, aged 84, of Judsonia (White County) died Saturday. He was a retired farmer, a veteran of World War I and a member of the Bald Knob Assembly of God Church. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Wilma Strayhorn; a son, Wilburn (Slim) Strayhorn of Searcy; two daughters, Mrs. Geneva Haley of Judsonia and Mrs. Willadean Hockin of Pigeon, Mich.; three brothers, Roy Strayhorn of Judsonia, Ruffin Strayhorn of Wichita Falls, Tex., and A.Z. Strayhorn of McRae; two sisters, Mrs. Cordie Gamblin of Lewisburg, Mo., and Mrs. Lonnie McKinney of Searcy, six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Daniel Funeral Home at Searcy. Burial will be at Gum Springs Cemetery near Searcy.
