Cycle Wreck Kills Youth

SPRINGDALE — A Springdale youth died Sunday night when the motorcycle he was riding slammed into the side of a building about four miles west of Springdale on the Elm Springs Road.

Killed in the one vehicle accident was David Hugh Seals, 19, of 1003 White Road, Springdale.

Trooper Tommy William's said the youth failed to negotiate a curve just east of Elm Springs, left the roadway, crashed through a fence and slammed into the side of a brick building owned by Edward Thiesse.

Williams said witnesses at the scene reported that the motorcycle was traveling too fast to negotiate the curve.

Seals was was killed instantly, officials said.

Born March. 12, 1953 at Springdale. Seals was the son of James C. and Evelyn Solenberger Seals, and a Baptist.

Survivors include his father of Virginia Beach, Va.; his mother of the home; one brother, Mark of the home; four sisters, Yolanda of Virginia Beach and Cindy, Kathy and Becky Seals, all of the home and his maternal grandfather, Ira Solenberger of West Fork.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Sisco Funeral Chapel.

Funeral services for David Hugh (Dave) Seals, 19, 1003 White Road, Springdale, were held today at 2 p.m. in Berry Street Baptist Church with the Rev. Ralph Raines officiating. Burial was in West Fork Cemetery under the direction of Sisco Chapel.

Pallbearers were Terry Nollner, Bill Sims, Billy Graham, Joe Yeager, Steve Graham and Dennis Graham.
