Edward Carl Sample, 84, resident of West Fork died Tuesday afternoon in the Springdale Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. Born March 19, 1874 in Sebastian County, the son of Samuel and Elizabeth Bradley Sample, he was a retired postmaster at West Fork, and a member of the Methodist Church.

Survivors are his wife, Rose, of West Fork; two sons, Max Sample, Springdale, and John Sample, Rogers; one daughter, Mrs. Ruby Keesee, Wewoka, Okla.; ten grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were to be conducted this afternoon at 3 o'clock in the Presbyterian Church at West Fork by the Rev. George Ivey of Springdale. Burial was to be in West Fork cemetery under the direction of Nelson's Funeral Home.

Mrs. Rose Marie Sample, 88, of West Fork, died Saturday in Springdale following an extended illness. She was born Dec. 23, 1878 in West Fork, the daughter of John W. and Mary Forrester Robinson, and was a member of the Springdale Methodist Church and a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by two sons, John of Rogers and Max of Springdale; a daughter, Mrs. Ruby Keesee of Wewoka, Okla.; a brother, Roy Robinson of West Fork: a sister, Mrs. Beulah Owens of Maud, Okla.; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral service was to be held this afternoon at West Fork Presbyterian Church with burial in West Fork Cemetery under direction of Nelson's Funeral Home.
