WEST FORK — Cara May McCorkle, 28, of West Fork, died Sunday, May 6, 2012. She was born Sept 11, 1983, in Fayetteville, Ark. Cara was the daughter of Sam and Carla McCorkle.

She graduated from West Fork High School in 2001. She was a certified police officer and worked for Washington County Sheriff's department for most other career.

In Cara's too-short time on Earth she touched the lives of so many people. She was kind, patient, generous and so much fun to be around with that contagious laugh she had. She was quick to give a helping hand and was a rock for so many people. She loved her family. friends and her dogs.

We loved Cara so much and we will truly miss her.

Survivors include her parents, Sam and Carla McCorkle; sisters, Nikki Shackelford and husband, Justin, and Madeline McCorkle; grandparents, Mitch and Henry McCorkle and Bill and Lola Ellis; and she will also be missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 10, 2012, at Unity Baptist Church, 14680 Union Star Road, West Fork, AR 72774; with Uncle Bobby Wilson officiating. Burial will be at the West Fork Cemetery under the direction of Beard's Funeral Chapel immediately following the services.
