SARASOTA, Fla. — Carol Elizabeth Carter (Kinsey) McClelland, 58, of Sarasota, Fla., formerly of Fayetteville, Ark., passed away Friday, Jan. 10, 2014, in her home. She was born Dec. 12, 1955, to William E. "Bill" and Elizabeth Earlene Carter of West Fork, Ark.

Carol graduated from Fayetteville High School in 1974 and attended the University of Arkansas. She was a member of A Cappella Choir and the Choralettes at FHS and Schola Cantorum at the U of A.

Carol was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Fayetteville until her move to Florida.

Carol and her husband, Kirk McClelland, owned a video production, animation and website design company.

Carol's flair for the creative led her to be very successful and highly thought of by her clients. Her two best creations are her son, Dustin Than Kinsey, and daughter, Lauren Elizabeth Kinsey. She devoted her life to serving others and encouraging her family and friends with her contagious smile and laughter.

McClelland is survived by her husband, Kirk, of the home; her son, Dustin Than Kinsey, of Portland, Ore.; daughter, Lauren Elizabeth Kinsey of Chicago, Ill.; and three brothers, Wm. Steven Carter of Little Rock, Ark., and his wife, Penny, Don E. Carter and his wife, Lesa, of Fayetteville, and Neal A. Carter of Bella Vista and his wife, Tonja; nephews and nieces, Andrew Carter of St. Louis, Mo., Bethany Carter, Jennifer Carter, Adam Carter and his wife, Randi, Merideth Carter, all of Fayetteville, and Noah Carter and his wife, Anjonette, of Bentonville, Ark.; and stepson, Catlin McClelland of Washington, D.C.; and one great-niece, Ellie Claire Carter; and lots of aunts, uncles and cousins.

The family will have a private graveside service at the West Fork Cemetery under the direction of Moore's Chapel.

Friends and family are invited to a Memorial Celebration honoring Carol's life at First Baptist Church, Fayetteville, Ark., on Friday, Jan. 17, 2014.
