Russell L. Mavis, 45, West Fork, died Feb. 29 in Tijuana, Mexico. Born Nov. 9, 1930, in Madison County, Mich., he was the son of Clarence and Hulda Parker Mavis and employed by Willis Shaw, Inc. as a heavy equipment mechanic.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Audrey Denton Mavis of the home; three sons, Vernon Mavis, Chris Mavis and Russ Mavis, of the home; three daughters, Mrs. Gina McLaughlin, West Fork, Mrs. Julie Perse, Fayetteville, and Kay Mavis of the home; two brothers, Don Mavis, West Fork, and Clifford Mavis, Branch, Mich., one sister, Mrs. Helen Tubbs, Kalamazoo, Mich, ; and one grandchild.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Nelson Funeral Home, Fayetteville, with Frank Griffin officiating. Burial will be in West Fork Cemetery under the direction of Nelson.
