Jeffrey Scott Dacus, of Fayetteville, Arkansas, died August 21, 2010. He was born December 1, 1953, the son of Dr. Robert J. and Helen Dacus.
He is survived by his mother, Helen Dacus; a brother, Dr. Robert M. Dacus and wife Nancy; two nephews, Joseph and Weston Dacus; as well as aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was a graduate of Searcy High School in 1972 and he graduated from Hendrix College with a major in biology and a minor in Chemistry. He then received a masters Degree in Agriculture from the University of Arkansas. He also attended Harvard University in the summers.
He worked for the University of Arkansas as a laboratory technician and later as a research specialist. He also worked for Weyerhouser as a research specialist and regional manager in Lyon, Georgia.
Jeffrey joined the Army National Guard and after a year volunteered for the United States Army, where he served in the 5th Infantry Artillery Division until he was honorably discharged on January 31, 1986.
