Opal Margaret Powers, age 83, of Texarkana, Arkansas, died Friday, June 22, 2012 at her home.
Ms. Powers was born December 4, 1928 in Hamburg, AR. She was a retired bookkeeper after 40 plus years from the Baptist Book Store, a volunteer with TRAHC, a member of the Mimosa Garden Club and a member of County Avenue Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, A.T. and Ida Lee Powers; a brother, J.B. Powers; and three sisters, Alice Vining, Austilene Porter and Mildred Alder.
She is survived by a sister, Coy Green of Greenville, TX; a sister-in-law, Jimmie Powers of Texarkana, AR and numerous other nieces, nephews and friends.
Services will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at County Avenue Baptist Church with Bro. Roger Copeland officiating. Burial will follow at East Memorial Gardens under the direction of Texarkana Funeral Home, TX.
