Funeral services for Texarkana, Ark., resident Ruth Ann Elkins Curtis, 66, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at County Avenue Baptist Church, Texarkana, Ark. The Rev. Joe Carlton and the Rev. George Raley will officiate. Burial will follow in East Memorial Gardens, Texarkana, Ark., under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen, Ark.
Mrs. Curtis died Saturday in a Texarkana hospital. She was born March 26, 1936, in Texarkana, Ark., the daughter of David Michael and Loutie May (Hopkins) Elkins. She and her husband, the Rev. Dwight Curtis, managed the Bogg Springs Baptist Church Camp near Wickes, Ark., from 1964 until their retirement in 1997. She was a member of County Avenue Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, James Elkins and Gene Elkins.
Survivors include her husband, the Rev. Dwight Curtis, of the home; three sons, Michael L. Curtis of Texarkana, Texas, the Rev. Douglas R. Curtis of Bogg Springs and the Rev. Gregory B. Curtis of Broken Bow; four brothers, Fincher Elkins of Bossier City, La., Bill Elkins of Texarkana, Ark., Charles Elkins of Ozark, Mo. and Wayne Elkins of Little Rock, Ark.; three sisters, Virginia Jewel of Bedford, Ind., Dovie Dodson of Russellville, Ark. and Helen Hughes of Henderson, Texas; and six grandchildren.
