Roy Pearson Moss was born on Thursday, August 3, 1916 in Gravel Hill, Arkansas, in White County, to Thomas Gentry Moss and Maudie Mae Burkett Moss and passed away on Monday, February 2, 2009 in Searcy, Arkansas at age 92.

He married Lillian Lorene Hays on October 14, 1939 in Romance, Arkansas. To this union was born one son, Randy Hays Moss. Roy was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian, who passed away on April 2, 1995, by two brothers, Clovis Cleveland Moss and T. G. Moss, and by two sisters, Sylvia Agnes Benton and Tina Mae McDaniel. He is survived by one sister, Martha Emily Cole of Kensett, Arkansas, by one son, Randy Hays Moss and his wife, Mary Grace Anderson Moss, of Rolla, Missouri, and by three grandsons, Benjamin Roy Moss of Cambridge, Massachusetts, Andrew Paul Moss of Rolla, Missouri, and Jeffrey Paul Moss of Rolla, Missouri.

Roy and Lillian faithfully attended the First General Baptist Church of Searcy for over 40 years. He worked for the Yarnell Ice Cream Company for over 37 years as a route salesman and later as a route supervisor before retiring in 1981. In retirement, he enjoyed fishing and hunting, fishing until he was well into his 80s. He tried to be a good friend to everyone he knew and could often be found helping his friends and neighbors.

The Funeral Service will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 4, 2009 at the First General Baptist Church, 1005 West Booth Road in Searcy. Interment will follow at White County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 6:00 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 3, 2009 at Roller-Daniel Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the First General Baptist Church.
