Lieutenant Colonel (Retired) Lee C. "Wade" Gamble, 73, of Hope Mills, North Carolina, died Monday, November 20, 2012 in Cape Fear Valley Hospital, Fayetteville, North Carolina.
Mr. Gamble was born October 1, 1939 in Washington, Arkansas.
He attended Booker T. Washington High School in Texarkana, Arkansas and earned his masters degree in public administration from Webster University. He was an avid golfer and an army veteran.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Margaree and Calon Gamble and one brother, George Gamble Sr.
Survivors include his wife, Delois Gamble; two sons, Alphonso Gamble and Nevin Gamble; one brother, Eddie L. Gamble Sr.; and seven grandchildren.
Burial will be in East Memorial Gardens Cemetery under the direction of East Funeral Home-Downtown.
