Martha Marie Watson, age 91, formerly of Texarkana, Texas, died Monday, June 19, 2017 in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. She was born December 28, 1925 in Mineral Springs, Arkansas.
She was a retired elementary school teacher having spent over 30 years in the Texarkana, Arkansas School District. Marie was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma. In Texarkana, she was a member of Walnut Church of Christ before moving to Florida to live with her son and daughter-in-law, where she was a member of Palm Beach Lakes Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Wendell Watson, her parents, John and Ruth Cowling; two sisters, Madell Webb and Mylie Cowling; and one brother, Frank Cowling.
Survivors include on son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Debi Watson of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Jesse and Kittie Cowling of Batesville, Arkansas and John and Mary Lou Cowling of Lockesburg, Arkansas; three grandchildren, Nate Watson of Newport, Arkansas, Seth Watson of North Palm Beach, Florida and Matthew Watson of Winter Garden, Florida; four great-grandchildren and many other relatives.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 23, 2017 at the Chapel at Walnut Church of Christ with Tommy Gaither officiating. The family will receive friends at the church, prior to the service. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
