November 10, 1859 - December 29, 1954
John G. Hawkins, age 95, of Camden died in a Little Rock hospital at 1 p.m. Wednesday. Mr. Hawkins was born Nov. 10, 1859 in Ouachita County, where he spent his entire life. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Hawkins. Mr. Hawkins was a member of the Reader Baptist Church. Survivors are one son, Arthur Hawkins; one grandson, Glen Hakins, and one great grandson, Freddie Hawkins, all of Camden. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Reader Baptist Church by Rev. H. R. Nabors of Chidester, assisted by Rev. T. L. Harris of Camden. Burial will be in Turner cemetery by Forbis-Mathis funeral home. (Camden News - December 30, 1954)
