Nellie Maude Bearden, 91, passed away Sunday, November 2, 2014 at the Ouachita County Medical Center. She was a member of the Harmony Grove Methodist Church. Mrs. Bearden was preceded in death by her husband, Glen W. Bearden; a son, Glen Ray Bearden; and eleven siblings.
Nellie is survived by a son, Frank Bearden and his wife, Johnette; a daughter, Linda Butler; eight grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Many in our community have enjoyed eating her purple hull peas and will affectionately remember Nellie as the “pea lady.”
Proctor Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 6-8 PM Monday, November 3, 2014. A graveside service will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday at Memorial Park Cemetery in Camden.
