SPRINGDALE — Thomas Jackson "Jack" Brashears, 75, of Springdale died April 26, 2000, at Northwest Medical Center in Springdale.
He was born Aug. 13, 1224, in Elkins to Bruce Sumner and Eva May Tucker Brashears.
He was an Army veteran of World War ll and the Korean War.
He was a member of First Baptist Church in Springdale and retired from Tyson Foods after 34 years as a serviceman.
He was a volunteer at Jones Center for Families, a tutor at Jones Elementary School and a longtime member of the Friday Night Fishing Club.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Thelma Faye Crowder Brashears.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley A. Pearson Brashears of the home; two daughters and one son-in-law, Susan Carol Clark and A.L. of Springdale and Sara Ann Brashears of Fayetteville; two stepsons, Bill Robertson of Rogers and Dr. Bob Robertson of Montgomery, Ala.; three grandchildren; one great-grandson; six stepgrandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church in Springdale with the Rev. Charlie Foster officiating.
Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home of Huntsville.
Pallbearers will be Poke Knight, Bob Baskin, Bromo Wilson, David Howard, Sherril Shaver and Jacy Ivy.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Sisco Chapel in Springdale.
Memorials may be made to the Springdale Public Library.
