Katherine Rhew Turner, 70, of Bradford, went to be with her Savior, Tuesday, August 21, 2018. She was born July 17, 1948 and was the daughter of Ruth Hickmon Rhew and the late Herbert H. Rhew.
Katherine was a member of Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, where over the years she served as the church secretary, treasurer, camp fund treasurer, mission fund treasurer, ladies auxiliary treasurer, church clerk, pianist and official “coconut cream pie maker” for fellowship dinners at the church.
Katherine is survived by her mom, Ruth Hickmon Rhew; brother, Johnny Rhew (Keta and niece MeKayla Sexton); three step-children, Keith Turner (Fe) of Plumerville, Angie Toddy (Carroll) of Bradford and Matthew Turner (Charlotte) of New Mexico; four step-grandsons, Dustin, Levi, Austin and Nate; some very special cousins; her former husband, Billy George Bright; her special hospice caregivers, Alisha and Crystal; two very special dogs, Button and Copper.
Katherine was preceded in death by her husband, Boyce Dean Turner; her daddy, Herbert H. Rhew; a very special aunt who was like a second mom, Gracie Scantlin; other special aunts and uncles and her grandparents, Hinkle and Arrettis Hickmon and Arthur and Edna Rhew.
Visitation will be Thursday from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Powell Funeral Home in Bald Knob. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, August 24, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Brian Garrett and Bro. Wayne Stringer officiating. Interment will follow in the Smith (Crossroads) Cemetery by Powell Funeral Home, Bald Knob – Judsonia.
