December 26, 1929 - June 13, 2016
Alice Marie Rogers, 86, passed away June 13, 2016 at the Medical Center of South Arkansas in El Dorado, Arkansas from renal disease, leukemia, and pneumonia. She was born December 26, 1929 to Valdo and Irene Sturgis in Camden, Arkansas. Greeting her in heaven are her parents, Valdo and Irene Sturgis; a brother, Joe Sturgis; and a son, Larry Charles Powers. She was Methodist by faith and attended St. Mark United Methodist church in El Dorado, Arkansas.
Survivors include her husband, Charles Rogers of El Dorado, AR; her brothers, J. P. Sturgis of Louisiana and Jerry Sturgis of Arkansas; her sisters, Pauline Moore and Cora Kaffenberger of Arkansas and Molly Teague of Oklahoma; a daughter, Sherian Smith (Danny) of El Dorado, AR; step-children, John Rogers (Tinka) of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas and Terry Ralston (Jim) of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas; a step-granddaughter, Courtney Mills (Tracy) of El Dorado, AR; a grandson, David Hagins (Tara) of Great Falls, Montana and great-grandchildren, Brendan and Krystin-Hagins of Great Falls, Montana; a grandson, Sterling Powers of Maumelle, Arkansas; and step-granddaughter, Shelby Mills of El Dorado, Arkansas.
The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff at the emergency room and others at the Medical Center of South Arkansas and her physicians who treated her in El Dorado, Arkansas for the loving care they provided.
Proctor Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. A graveside service will be held 2:00 Thursday, June 16, 2016 at Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to UCAPPS, 1000 Sunset Road, El Dorado, Arkansas, 71730.
