Della Maude Tomlinson, 87, of Camden died Sunday, April 11, 2010 at the Silver Oaks Rehabilitation and Senior Living Center in Camden. Mrs. Tomlinson was born November 4, 1922 in Ouachita County, the daughter of James Carr and Della Lee Carter Hughes. She was a homemaker and member of Cullendale First Baptist Church.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J. M. Tomlinson; sisters, Lacie Hughes, Flora Hughes, Edith Wells, Phonie Williams, Dorothy White, and Louella Miller; brothers, John Floyd Hughes, Sr., Norlis Hughes; and nephew, John Floyd Hughes, Jr., and stepson, Don Tomlinson. Survivors include her daughter, Phyllis Stewart and husband, Troy of Camden; grandsons, Troy (Bo) Stewart and wife, Brandy of Camden, and Phillip Stewart and wife, Anna of Bossier City, LA; five great grandchildren, Ben, McKinley, Kaylee, Raylee, and Beth; nieces, Jeanne Clements, Annette Dowdell, Betty Ferguson, Nancy Humphries, Judy Hern, Virginia Head, and Linda Jared; nephew, Larry Williams; three stepdaughters, Sharlie Fawks and husband, Bob of Waxahachie, TX, Mary Ella Simmons and husband, Ron of Woodlake, TX and Marie Tomlinson and husband, Carl of Steelville, MO; stepson, Jerry Tomlinson and wife, Maurine of Waxahachie, TX; step daughter-in-law, Louise Tomlinson and many other family and friends.
Mrs. Tomlinson really loved her family and loved caring and cooking for her friends and also really had a special love for animals. Her family at Silver Oaks really loved her and she in return had a special place for all of them.
Memorials may be made to the Cullendale First Baptist Church Building Fund, 1850 Cash Road, Camden, AR 71701.
Funeral services for Mrs. Tomlinson will be 10:00 am Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at Proctor Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
