Ethel Mae Hargrove of Searcy, Arkansas passed away on March 23, 2017. She was born on January 24, 1919 in Judsonia Arkansas, to Allie L. Page and Jessie Jo Anschultz. She married Lovie Ramson Butler in 1936 and had a daughter Joyce Foreman. After Lovie Butler's death in 1936, she married Uzell Hargrove in 1942. They had four children, Larry Uzell Hargrove (Zeny), Jerry Thomas Hargrove (Patricia), Carolyn Jane Alvarez (Tino), and Marilyn Joan Bauer (Robert).
After moving to the Coachella Valley, Ethel became a Nurses' Aide and worked at J F K Memorial Hospital for many years. She also worked at numerous Nursing Homes in the valley and then became a private duty nurse until her retirement. She moved back to Arkansas after the deaths of her daughter, Jane Alvarez and her son, Jerry Hargrove in 2008.
Ethel loved to shop and travel. She enjoyed her frequent visits to Hawaii. She also enjoyed music. She especially loved Gospel songs and Johnny Cash. She also enjoyed working in her vegetable and flower gardens.
Ethel is survived by her daughters Joyce Foremen of Searcy, Ar. and Joan Bauer of Garrison, ND, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members.
She is preceded in death by Lovie Ramson Butler and Uzell Hargrove, her sons Larry and Jerry Hargrove, her daughter Jane Alvarez, grandsons Larry Hargrove and Kevin Bauer and seven brothers and sisters.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 27, 2017, 10:00AM at St. Andrew Community Presbyterian Church, 47-192 Monroe St., Indio, Ca.
