Ray A. Cooper, age 85, of Searcy, went to be with the Lord Thursday, October 9, 2008. He was born Wednesday, May 16, 1923 in Rose Bud, Arkansas to Lee Vernon and Mary Francis Johnson Cooper.

He is survived by his wife Geraldine Cooper of Searcy; one son Danny Cooper and wife Sylvia of Searcy; one daughter MiDonna Miller and husband Rusty of Sherwood; five grandchildren Candace Cooper of Searcy, Trei Miller and wife Staci of Sherwood, Adam Miller and Stephanie of North Little Rock, Dr. Natalie Towns and husband Dr. Chad Towns of Nebraska City, Nebraska, and Grace Miller and fianc� Trey of Sherwood; two great grandchildren Jordan Nicole Miller and Hailey McMillian; and two sisters Odean Gray of Searcy and Vernie Kelly of Rose Bud along with a host of other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his first wife Margaret Cooper; his parents; and one brother Buster Cooper.

Ray was a member of Park Avenue Baptist Church in Searcy where he served as a Deacon, he was a past White County Fair Board and Quorum Court member, a Naval veteran of WWII, a 32nd Degree Mason, a member of Searcy Lodge #49, a Shriner and member of the Whitewood Shrine, a barber for over 20 years and a long-time employee of Roller-Daniel Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be Saturday, October 11, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Roller-Daniel Funeral Home with interment following at White County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Friday, October 10, 2008 from 6:00-9:00 p.m. at Roller-Daniel Funeral Home.

Memorials in lieu of flowers may be made to the Shriner's Hospitals, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL, 33607-1460.
