Betty Jean (Schutz) McAdams, 70, of Bradford, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, April 22, 2018. She was born January 26, 1948 in Pleasant Plains, Arkansas, a daughter of the late Bill and Clara Schutz.
On April 30, 1993 Betty married Billy McAdams. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Betty loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a mother figure to many children and loved each one of them as her own. Betty was a member of Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church. She loved the Lord and enjoyed going to revivals and singing specials.
Betty was a very talented, hardworking lady. She spent several years gathering wood and supplies and with the help of her family managed to build her home just the way she wanted it. Betty’s hobbies included working in her flower beds, gardening, canning, and fishing when she was able.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Clara Schutz; a great-grandson son, Aven McAdams; one brother, W.T. Schultz, and two sisters, Geneva Rickett, and Laura Holden.
Left to cherish Betty’s memory is her husband, Billy McAdams; her children, Melissa Gallagher (Greg Cook)of Mountain Home, John Matthew Gallagher (Christie) of Bald Knob, and Adam Rodgers (Angela) of Sallisaw, Oklahoma; two brothers, Raymond Schutz (Kathy) of Charlotte, and Glynn Schutz (Donna) of Iconium, Missouri; two sisters, Mary Mason (Howard) of Kansas City, Missouri, and Carolyn Newsom (Phillip) of Mountain Home; twelve grandchildren, Evan Rodgers, Ivy Rodgers, Eli Rodgers, Heather Teehee, Jered McAdams, Colten Rodgers, Destiny Youkna, Noah Gallagher, Katie Gallagher, Hayley Grumbles, Russell McAdams, and Paul McAdams; numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and church family.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Damon McAdams, Adam Rodgers, Jered McAdams, John Gallagher, William Graveline, and Colten Rodgers. Honorary pallbearer is Greg Cook.
Visitation will be held Thursday, April 26, 2018 from 12:00-2:00 p.m. at Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church. Services will begin at 2:00 p.m. with Bro. John Boswell and Bro. Chris Cunningham officiating. Interment to will follow at Smith Cemetery.
