Lutie Pearl Pearce Livingston
Died: April 12, 2019 in Columbus, GA
Lutie Pearl Pearce Livingston long time resident of Bradford, AR and longtime member of Bradford Baptist Church passed peacefully from this life in her son’s home in Columbus, GA. She had been fighting Parkinson’s disease for over twelve years, but finally succumbed to the effects. She was in the company of her daughter-in-law Linda at the time of passing.
Lutie was born on March 2, 1937, on Tuckers Ridge near Bradford, AR to George Henry Pearce II and Marietta Pearl McMullin Pearce. She was the second from the youngest of nine children. She graduated from Bradford High School in 1955 where she played softball and basketball. After high school, she went to Michigan to work, and wound up meeting her husband of 62 years, Walter Robert Livingston. They were married on December 2, 1956. Their marriage produced two sons, Dale Carlton Livingston (deceased) of Savannah, GA, and William Henry Livingston of Columbus, GA. After a brief stint in the canning business after high school, she went into banking. She continued in the banking business for the rest of her adult life, until she retired from Citizens State Bank in Bradford in 2008. She was a loving wife and caring mother. She was a long time member of Bradford Baptist Church, where she worked as church treasurer for 18 years. Besides her family, the things she loved most were cooking and children. She really loved to make baked goodies for people. She was best known for her Coconut Cream and Fresh Strawberry pies. She really gave of her time and herself by preparing and delivering food and baked goods for every occasion: church functions, family get togethers, funerals, graduations, etc. She always had something to offer. Her biggest passion though, was taking care of the babies in the church nursery, or anywhere else she could find a baby to hold. She started in the nursery in her church in Michigan, and quickly volunteered to work in the nursery at Bradford. She worked there until her disease progression made her unable to care for the children.
