Mr. Eddie Rae "Shorty" Spry, 74, of Fountain Hill, died Monday, October 10, 2011 at the Belle View Estates Rehabilitation and Care Center in Monticello.
Mr. Spry was a native of Tinsman, Arkansas and a resident of Fountain Hill and the Milo Community outside of Hamburg for over 30 years.
He was a veteran of the United States Marines and a retired truck driver having worked for Georgia-Pacific for 36 years.
He was a Mason and a member of the Hamburg Prairie Masonic Lodge #465. He was a cowboy all of his life, a bull rider, an avid horseman and he loved training cutting horses.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Larkin & Lillie Mae Laws Spry and a sister, Della Mae.
He is survived by three daughters, Deanie Walthall and husband, Eugene, Tab Spry and Donete Sinclair all of El Dorado; two sisters, Carolyn Miotti and husband, Joe, of Camdenton, Missouri and Nell Williams and husband, Benny, of Natchitoches, Louisiana and four grandchildren, Courtney & Lakin Walthall, Morgan & Logan Sinclair.
Funeral services are 10 a.m., Friday, October 14, 2011 in the chapel of Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home.
Burial will be in the Earnest Cemetery in Tinsman, Arkansas. Memorials may be made to Hope Landing, PO Box 10215, El Dorado, AR 71730.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home.
