Elsie - April 29, 1882 - July 27, 1955
Hilbert - January 14, 1880 - February 18, 1928
Mrs. Elsie Hankwitz, age 73, of Holly Springs, died in a local hospital early Wednesday morning. Mrs. Hankwitz was born in Wisconsin April 29, 1882. She moved to Dallas county in 1917, and has lived in Dallas and Ouachita counties since that time. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Ira Elder of Leesville, La., Mrs. Cleo Riggs of Holly Springs, and Mrs. Dewey Stokes of Coos Bay, Oregon; four sons, W. R. Hankwitz of Pineville, La., L. R. Hankwitz of Coos Bay, Oregon, M. F. Hankwitz of Holly Springs, and Arlo Hankwitz of Camden; two sisters, Mrs. Charles Birr and Mrs. Albert Birr, both of Two Rivers, Wisconsin; four brothers, Howard Pagel of Two Rivers, Wis., August Pagel of Townsend, Wis., and Arno Pagel of Lena, Wis; by 16 grandchildren, and one great grandchild. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Holly Springs Methodist Church by Rev. Jim FOrd. Burial will be in Sardis cemetery near Sparkman by Proctor Funeral Home. The body will remain at the funeral home chapel until 9:00 a.m. Thursday. Active bearers are: Wilton Sorrells, Herum Rogers, Wes Cartwright, Alfred Riggs, Jack Riggs and Doyle Lockridge. Honorary bearers are: Claude Riggs, Cleo Alexandria, Earl Alexandria, Wardie Tilley, Horace Looney, and Lloyd House. (Camden News - July 27, 1955)
