Lois Hickmon Williford, age 95, formerly of Bradford, died Friday, December 26, 2008. She was born January 1, 1913 in Bradford, Arkansas to the late U.L. and Coral Ann Hickmon.
A retired school teacher, she taught third grade in the Bradford and Bald Knob School Districts for over 30 years. She was also the Bradford High School girls basketball coach.
She is survived by her sister, Doris L. Croxton of Searcy; three nieces, Ann Parks (B.J.) of Beebe, Martha Taussig (Paul) of Bradford and Dorothy Hickmon of Bradford; two nephews, Tom Mason (Pat) of Bradford and Tom Croxton (Agnes) of Falls Church, VA; many grand nieces and grand nephews; and numerous friends and former students.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter A. Williford; a sister, Mabel Hickmon Mason and a brother, Marshall Hickmon.
Visitation will be from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday at Powell Funeral Home in Bald Knob. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday at the Powell Funeral Home Chapel in Bald Knob with interment at Smith Cemetery in Bradford.
