Overview *HALES CEMETERY

Hales Cemetery
Drew County,
Arkansas

This small family cemetery holds only 3 burials. It is located at the old homeplace of the Hales family, and is located on private property.
Family lore states that when J. Monroe Hales died in 1906, impassable roads prevented the family from taking his body to the Ozment Valley Cemetery to bury him. They buried him near their home and his parents J. M. and Amanda J. Hales requested that at the time of deaths that their bodies would also be buried near their son.
One of their daughters, Emma J., is buried in Ozment Valley Cemetery beside her husband William E. Eubanks.

Thanks to Mr. D Eubanks for his generous invitation to photograph the lovely old headstones of his ancestors.
