September 19, 1920 - May 9, 2013
Ann Buford Morgan passed away on May 9, 2013. She was born on September 19, 1920 in Stephens, Arkansas to Theodosha (Cleary) Buford and Homer Buford. Ann was united in marriage to Asa Stokely Morgan in Camden in 1942. A private burial service will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, Camden, at 11:00 a.m. on May 2, 2014. Ann’s niece, Jamye Sanders, will lead the service. Proctor Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
Ann was a devoted wife and mother. She created a home environment that was beautiful and welcoming, often having family and friends over for meals and visits.
Ann earned her certification as a licensed beautician as an adult then owned and operated a beauty salon for several years. Ann loved to travel when the opportunity arose, and over the years she visited many countries across five continents. Golf was a favorite activity. Ann spent six decades actively playing, always trying to improve her game and enjoying every round. Ann’s passion was to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with others. She loved sharing her personal testimony and was a faithful supporter of missionaries in America and across the globe.
Ann was blessed to have been the 10th child of a loving, gentle family. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Asa, her siblings, Pearl Fletcher, Hamp Buford, Earl Buford, Letha King, Myrtle Branch, Robert Buford, Lenora Rogers, W. D. Buford, and Cleo Buford (infant).
Ann is survived by her daughters, Sallye Sanders and Janyth Morgan, her sister, Edith Sanders, and brother Coy Buford. She is also survived by five grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews who filled her life with joy.
At Ann’s passing, this chapter of her life on Earth closes. The memories of the joy Asa and Ann brought to others, will never be forgotten. Asa and Ann spent 54 years together sharing their faith in Jesus Christ, now they will rest together eternally in His loving arms. To God be the Glory.
