John Thomas Hively son of Michael Hively and Malinda (Hager) Hively. Eliza Jane (Skidmore) Hively daughter of Henry H Skidmore and Sarah Jane (Ledford) Skidmore. John Thomas Hively was born and died in Crossroads, Izard County, Arkansas.

John T. Hively Dies at Cross Roads Thursday

John T. Hively, one of this section’s best known citizens, died at his home near Cross Roads, early Thursday morning. He had suffered from a heart ailment for several months.

Mr. Hively was born in the vicinity of Cross Roads, were he spent practically all his life. He was a devout Christian, having united with the Baptist church early in life. He was 59 years of age.

The funeral will be held at Wise Chapel, Friday at 2 p.m., services to be conducted by Eld. J. M. Rush of Melbourne and Rev. D. R. Robertson of Mount Olive. Interment will be in the Wise Chapel cemetery.

Deceased is survived by his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Edith Ivie of Calico Rock; Mrs. Willie Dixon of Wild Cherry, Ark., and a foster daughter, Mrs. Nova Lewis of Hand, Ark.; two sons, Hayden and Lelon Hively of Cross Roads; also five sisters, Mrs. J. W. Copeland, of White House, Texas, Mrs. Amanda Sanders of Viola, Ark., Mrs. Modie Wayland of Wild Cherry, Ark., Mrs. Martha Sanders of Pineville, Ark., and Mrs. Polly Burton of Dolph, Ark.
