She was a resident of Silver Oaks Health and Rehabilitation and passed quietly in her sleep. She was Proudly to be a member of the Harmony Grove Community and a Business owner in Camden. For 90 years she lived her life knowing she was only passing through this world and now she has gone to her forever home with Jesus. Dorothy loved gardening, she called them her groceries. She had a green thumb. Dorothy was born May 3, 1926 in Baxter, Kansas to Jack and Jewell Curnette Hooton. She was a wonderful Christian Lady, wife, mother, and friend to so many. Dorothy built her business “Art and Sign” from the ground up in 1973 until her retirement in 2004. She was also an Art teacher at SAU Tech in East Camden for two years. She is survived by her two best friends for over 40 years, Debbie Williams Glass and husband, Benny of Camden, AR as well as Teresa Rocha and husband, Augie of Detroit, MI. Debbie’s children Curtis Willingham, Jr. and Sabrina Sanford both of Camden, AR and Misty Willingham Walton of Prattville, AL. Dorothy never had any grandchildren but she was very proud to be known by Debbie’s grandchildren as “Me Maw Dorothy”. Brian and Travis Willingham, Hannah and James Anthony, Haylee and Macey Cartwright along with Debbie’s great-niece and nephew, Julia Green and Ryder Howard. Dorothy was quick to tell everyone she was proud to be adopted by the “Williams” family. Dorothy will be missed by so many and treasured in the hearts of everyone who knew her, especially by her “Best Friends” Debbie Williams Glass and Teresa Rocha. Rest in Peace Girlfriend, you are now in your forever home with Jesus. Now you can watch over all of us. We all Love You.
