Carl Eugene Pfeifer 81 of Bono died Friday, April 4,at his residence.
Services were held 1 P.M. at Gregg funeral Home, Rev. John Snyder officiating and burial followed at Trinity Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Carroll Carr, Ronald Coleman, L.M. Duncan,Joshua Pfeifer,Cory Pfeifer and Robin Pfeifer.

Honoraro Pallbears were Bill Lane, Bill Welch,Fred Edwards. Lawrence Smallmon,Leon Hamilton,Leamon Thomas, Herschel Caples and Gaylon Tate.

Born in the Fifty-six community, he lived most of his life in Bono.

He was a retired rural mail carrier and a retired manager of Patton Motor Company. He served on the Bono City council, Bono Fire District board,board of trustees of Trinity Cemetery,and the Westside school board.

He was a veteran of World War 11 and a member of the Bono United Methodist Church were he served as a Sunday School teacher.

Survivors include his wife Lucille Pfeifer of the home, two sons,Donnie Pfeifer of Jonesboro,Danny Pfeifer of Bono: two sisters, Doris Knight of Walnut Ridge and Wanda Moore of Batesville: four grand-children,Heather Pfeifer of Jonesboro,Joshua Pfeifer of Bono,Cory Pfeifer and Robin Pfeifer of Jonesboro.

Lucile Virginia Thurman Pfeifer
January 9, 1926 - April 30, 2020

Bono- Lucile Virginia Thurman Pfeifer, 94, passed away Thursday, April 30, 2020 at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House.

She was born January 9, 1926 in Neosho, Missouri to the late Elmer Otis and Bertha Piercy Thurman. She met Carl Eugene Pfeifer while he was in the service stationed at Camp Crowder and they were married June 29, 1944. They moved to Bono where they remained.

She had worked at the Pet Milk Company while in Neosho after moving she attended the LaVera Beauty School and worked as a beautician. She later worked at Frolic Shoe Factory and then General Electric where she retired after twenty-seven years of service. She was a long time member of the Bono United Methodist Church.

She loved her family dearly especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed flower gardening and liked playing Skip Bo with her family.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Carl Pfeifer; five brothers, Kenneth Thurman, William Thurman, Denzil Thurman, Donald Thurman and Larry Thurman; three sisters, Irene Thurman, Bernice Phelin and Imogene Jennings and a great-granddaughter, Mary Ann Pfeifer.

She was survived by her sons, Donnie Pfeifer and Danny Pfeifer; grandchildren, Joshua Pfeifer, Cory Pfeifer (Nichole), Robin Pfeifer (Danielle) and Heather Edwards (Daniel); great-grandchildren, Dakota Swift, Sarah Swift, Tyler Swift, Cameron Pfeifer, Acie Pfeifer and Christian Castanon; two brothers, Delmar Thurman and Gary Thurman and a sister, Velma Dean Edington.

A graveside service will be 2:00 pm Saturday at Trinity Cemetery with Rev. Cory Pfeifer officiating under the direction of Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home.

The visitation will be from 12:30 until 1:30 pm Saturday at the funeral home.

Honored to serve as pallbearers were her grandsons and great-grandsons and as honorary pallbearers, Robin Castleberry, L.M. Duncan, Gaylon Tate, Ronald Coleman, Norman Leonard, Leon Hamilton and David Haley.
