James Bernard Sarrett, 80 of Camden, AR passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at his home. He was born September 16, 1935 in Bluff City, AR and was married to Annie Ponder Sarrett for 60 years. Bernard was a member of First Baptist Church where he served as Deacon for over 40 years. After retirement from Gilchrist Bag Company, he volunteered with Nailbenders for Jesus and helped build over a hundred churches. He also enjoyed woodworking and crafted very special furniture pieces and other gifts that are cherished by many family members and friends. Everyone who received or purchased his handiwork is a witness to his deeply held faith because he wrote Proverbs 3: 5, 6, 7 on each piece. He lived by his convictions and had the heart of a servant.

He was preceded in death by his step – father, Willie Moore, and mother, Minnie Meador Moore. He is survived by his wife, Annie Ponder Sarrett of Camden, AR; son, Randy Sarrett and wife, Lucy of Texarkana, TX; daughter, Lana Benson and husband, David of West Monroe, LA; sisters, Jeanette Beaver of Camden, AR, Wava Fitzhugh and husband, Raymond of Prescott, AR and Fay Taylor and husband, Harvey of Prescott, AR; granddaughters, Sally Sarrett Bryant and husband, William of Austin, TX, Jana Benson of New York, NY; grandson, Beau Benson of Baton Rouge, LA; and great granddaughter, Polly Bryant.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, April 2, 2016 at Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Casey Hough officiating. Visitation will be 10:30-12:00 AM Saturday, April 2, 2016 at Proctor Funeral Home which is in charge of the arrangements.
