Allen James "Ferdnanny" Sanders, 63, of Camden, died Friday, July 2, 2010, at John McClellan Veterans Hospital.
He was born in Camden, May 24, 1947, the son of Elijah and Ruth Sanders, who preceded him in death. He was a veteran and worked for Jabes Carpeting Company. He was a graduate of Lafayette High School and attended Mississippi State University. He became a member of an r&b band.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Sanders of Camden; three sons, Allen James Sanders Jr., and Joshua Sanders, both of Camden, and Kendrick Ivory of Milwaukee, Wisc.; a daughter, Elizabeth Sanders of Camden; six brothers, Smead Tatum of Las Vegas, N.V., William Sanders of Los Angeles, Calif., Elijah F. Sanders Jr., Don Harold Sanders, Jesse Sanders, and Lowell Sanders, all of Camden; a sister, Martha Sanders Smith of Camden; and four grandchildren.
Williams Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Memorial Park Cemetery with Elder Donald Wood offiaciating. Visitation is from 6 until 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
