September 25, 1935 - November 20, 2014
Reverend Cecil Barnhart of Sparkman, AR passed away Thursday, November 20, 2014, at the age of 79 years. He was born on September 25, 1935, to S.L. and Mertis (Cranford) Barnhart and baptized into God’s family at the age of 14 at Warner Spur Assembly of God in Harmony Grove, AR. At Center Street Assembly of God, Cecil met the love of his life, Pat (Weaver) Barnhart, they were married October 10, 1958. Cecil preached his first sermon at Calvary Assembly in Camden in February of 1960. Over the course of 50 plus years in the ministry he touched a number of lives with his love, his laughter, and above all, his faith. His motto to live by was “Save the lost at any cost!”
Cecil is survived by his wife of 56 years Pat (Weaver) Barnhart and children Buddy Barnhart & wife Lynn of Waldo, Randy Barnhart & wife Julie of Houston, TX, Jeff Barnhart & wife Kathy of Camden, brother Herbert Barnhart & wife Mary Ann of Camden, sister Pat Thompson of Waxahachie, TX; 12 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his Father S.L. Barnhart and mother Mertis (Cranford) Barnhart, brother Leonard Barnhart, brother Hubert Barnhart, sister Lucille Butler, sister Erma Jean Crutchfield, sister Linda Sanders, his daughter Susie (Barnhart) Jones, son-in-law Clifford Jones, baby Brenda Gail, and baby Bobby Ray; and grandson, Blake Randal Barnhart.
Funeral arrangements are being facilitated by Proctor Funeral Home in Camden, AR. Services will be 2:00 Monday, November 24, 2014 at Victory Church with Jerry Ables officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, November 23, 2014 6-8 P.M. at Proctor Funeral Home, in Camden, AR.
