Memorial Park Cemetery
Ouachita County,
Arkansas

May 9, 1949 - April 11, 2010

Harry Darnell (Donnie) Swanegan, Jr., 61 of Camden, AR departed his life on Sunday, April 11, 2010. A life of love and service is to be celebrated, never mourned. Such a life began when Harry Darnell (Donnie) Swanegan, Jr. was born in Camden, AR on May 09, 1949 to Harry Sr. and Mattie Swanegan. Donnie accepted Christ at an early age. His actions were natural, based on the fact that he was born into a religious family. He proved himself to be a faithful member of St. James A. M. E. Church as he was involved in the choir, Sunday school and A. C. E. Fellowship to name a few. He later joined the Sons of Allen. He remained faithful until his declining health.

He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1967. Donnie went on to work for the Santa Fe Railroad in Kansas, City, MO for a number of years. Upon returning to Camden, he was employed by the Coca Cola Bottling Company. His final employment was with the Bradford Mortuary.

Donnie had the ability to make friends, for he had many, he could give and inspire love. We will miss his humor, deep love and caring ways.

He leaves behind a legacy of love, which will be forever cherished by his mother, Mattie Swanegan; his father, Harry Swanegan, Sr. both of Camden, AR; his sisters, Anita (Ken) Maxey of San Gabriel, CA and Barbra McPheeters of Pasadena, CA; brother, Michael (Linda) Swanegan of Chino Hills, CA; his nephews, Sean Maxey of Washington, D. C., Kenneth Maxey, II of Oakland, CA, Michael Anthony Swanegan of Chino Hills, CA, Shunte Swanegan of Dallas, TX; and a niece, Tameika Swanegan of Little Rock, AR. All of whom he adored. He also had a host of relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a. m. Friday, April 16, 2010 at St. James A. M. E. Church with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 p. m. Thursday at Proctor Funeral Home.
